Summer Kick Off - Rise Up!

Please mark your calendars for White Station's summer kick off on Sunday, June 2nd. We will begin the day with a light breakfast for everyone in the CLC Gym at 8:30 before a combined class for all adults and our youth group. Rusty Adair will speak that morning and launch our summer theme, which is Rise Up!  John Mark Hicks will be preaching in the Auditorium and Fellowship Hall at 10:15 that morning.  We hope that you and your family will make plans to attend this exciting summer kick off on Sunday, June 2nd!

Social Security Seminar

The White Station Senior Adult Ministry will be hosting a Social Security Seminar on Saturday, June 8th 10:00a - 12:00p in the Fireplace Room. Our guest speaker will be Dan Newsom, a retired Social Security Administrator. The seminar will deal with planning for retirement and answer such questions as:
 - How much will I receive?
 - When should I retire?
 - Can I work and still receive Social Security?
 - When will I receive my benefits?
 - When should I sign up for Medicare?
 - Do I need additional insurances besides Medicare?
A light breakfast will be served at 9:30a, so please call the church office (761-2007) on or before Tuesday, June 4th, so that we can get an accurate count.

Vacation Bible School

White Station's VBS begins on Monday June 10th through Friday, June 14th, from 9 am to noon everyday. Please check out the giraffe in Fellowship Hall and the lion in the Auditorium today to find how you can help with needed items for this year's VBS.  Items for VBS can be returned to your worship venue by June 2nd. If you have a child, grandchild or know of anyone preschool through 6th grade, we hope you will invite them to VBS this summer.  You can register your child at the link found in today's Server or contact Theresa Jordan with any questions you might have.

Memphis Workcamp

During the first week in June, teenagers from around the mid-south will use our campus as home base as they serve the city of Memphis. White Station will provide desserts for the meal on Tuesday, June 4th, as we have done for the past several years. If you are willing to provide a plate of cookies, brownies or another sweet treat, please call the church office (761-2007) and let us know. Your prayers for Memphis Workcamp are appreciated and thank you for supporting our teens.

Seniors On The Go Again...

The next Creative Aging Senior Arts Series production is a condensed version of Theatre Memphis’s "Hairspray” on Wed., June 12, at 1:30. We will purchase tickets in advance for $6. Please give your money to Leon or Marilyn Sanderson or leave it in the church office by June 3. A large crowd is anticipated, so try to be at the theatre by 12:45.

Honoring Leon Sanderson

Leon Sanderson has faithfully served this church for 40 years as associate minister. He will be retiring from full time ministry at the end of June. A very special day of celebration is being planned to honor Leon on Sunday, June 23rd. Be sure to mark your calendar - this will be a Sunday morning that you do not want to miss!

Church Family and Friends Pickleball

Interested in an activity that will give you a boost to get through the midweek hump while spending time with your church family? Starting this month on Wednesday nights from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., the CLC gym will be set up for pickleball for those in our church family (and friends) who wish to come play.  Don’t know what it is? Think of it as a cross between tennis, badminton and ping-pong. Don’t know how to play?  No worries – there will be people around to help newcomers learn. Bring your own pickleball racket if you have one, but there will be a few available to use if you don’t. See Stevie Spain, Julie Henry or Paula Thweatt if  you have any questions.
